
Marion McDaniel has experience covering the full range of admiralty and maritime law. He has handled first and third party personal injury/death lawsuits emanating from the blue water, brown water, and onshore/offshore energy industries, including claims premised on product liability and toxic tort law. In addition, he has considerable experience in the marine and energy insurance fields, both in first and third party claims and in the areas of indemnity, charter party, contract of carriage, environmental/pollution, cargo damage, and maritime collision/allision. He has been involved in vessel arrests, documentation and arrests. Mr. McDaniel has counseled clients in several catastrophic maritime incidents, including one involving an offshore drilling contractor in the 1988 explosion and fire on the PIPER ALPHA platform in the North Sea, which resulted in some 165 death claims and total loss of the structure.

- Extensive experience in counseling marine and energy clients on drilling contracts, master service agreements, and construction contracts with particular emphasis on insurance and contractual indemnity provisions/issues.
